Shade some empty cells, so all shaded cells are orthogonally connected and no 2x2 are is completely shaded. Numbers in a hint cell indicate the length of consecutive shaded blocks in the neighboring cells. If there is more than one number in a cell, then there must be at least one white cell between the shaded cell groups. Cells with number hints cannot be shaded.
